About Mechelen

Mechelen is a charming, often-overlooked city halfway between Brussels and Antwerp. Once the capital of the Burgundian Netherlands, it boasts a rich history, beautiful churches, and a laid-back atmosphere. The impressive St. Rumbold's Tower dominates the skyline and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Today, Mechelen is known for its excellent food scene, vibrant Grote Markt, and family-friendly attractions. It is compact, easily walkable, and feels like a local secret that most tourists overlook in favor of its larger neighbors.
