About Ruse

Ruse is Bulgaria's fifth-largest city and often called "Little Vienna" for its stunning Neo-Baroque and Neo-Rococo architecture. Perched on the right bank of the Danube River across from Romania, it was Bulgaria's most cosmopolitan city in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The city's elegant center, with its ornate facades and grand public buildings, feels distinctly Central European.

Ruse is also the gateway to the remarkable Ivanovo Rock Churches (UNESCO) and the unique Rusenski Lom Nature Park. It's an underrated gem that rewards travelers looking beyond the obvious tourist trail, offering genuine Bulgarian culture, Danube River charm, and some of the country's lowest prices.
