Oulu
About Oulu
Oulu is the largest city in northern Finland and a surprising hub of technology, culture, and outdoor adventure. Located where the Oulujoki River meets the Gulf of Bothnia, it combines a youthful university-town energy with genuine northern Finnish character. The city is famous for its cycling culture — Oulu has more bikes per capita than almost any city in the world, even in winter.
With its quirky events (including the Air Guitar World Championships), beautiful archipelago, and proximity to both Arctic wilderness and the sea, Oulu offers a distinctive Finnish experience that few international tourists discover.
