About Porvoo
Porvoo (Borgå in Swedish) is the second-oldest city in Finland, founded in 1346. Just 50 km east of Helsinki, it is famous for its beautifully preserved Old Town with cobblestone streets and colorful wooden houses. The iconic red riverside warehouses along the Porvoo River are among Finland's most photographed sights.
Despite its small size, Porvoo punches above its weight with artisan shops, excellent restaurants, chocolate makers, and a rich cultural history. It makes for a perfect day trip from Helsinki or a charming overnight stay.
