Clervaux
About Clervaux
Clervaux is a small town in the northern Ardennes region of Luxembourg, set in a narrow valley surrounded by forested hills. It is best known for its medieval castle, which houses Edward Steichen's legendary "The Family of Man" photography exhibition — a UNESCO Memory of the World. The town also features a striking Benedictine abbey perched on a hilltop above.
Despite its small size, Clervaux played a significant role in the Battle of the Bulge during World War II. Today it is a peaceful base for exploring the Luxembourg Ardennes, with excellent hiking and cycling routes through dense forests and rolling hills.
