About Toruń

Toruń is a perfectly preserved medieval city on the Vistula River and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is the birthplace of Nicolaus Copernicus and Poland's gingerbread capital — the city has been baking its famous pierniki since the Middle Ages. Its Gothic Old Town survived WWII virtually untouched, making it one of Poland's most authentic historical cities.

With its leaning tower, red-brick churches, and charming market square, Toruń offers a compact but richly rewarding experience. It is often called "the most beautiful Gothic city north of the Alps" and remains refreshingly off the mass-tourism radar.
