About Žilina
Žilina is a charming city in northwestern Slovakia at the confluence of the Váh and Kysuca rivers, surrounded by the peaks of the Malá Fatra mountains. Its beautifully restored main square — Mariánske námestie — features distinctive arcaded burgher houses dating from the Renaissance period, creating one of the most photogenic squares in Slovakia.
As a gateway to the Malá Fatra National Park and the Vrátna valley, Žilina is perfect for travelers who want to combine urban culture with mountain adventures. The city also has a growing creative scene, anchored by the Nová synagóga art center.
